Season 4

The fourth season of Medium was first broadcasted on 7^th January, 2008.

It begins with Allison having upsetting dreams about a boy kidnapped while shopping with his father in a toy store. Since she is unable to contact Scanlon and Devalos, Allison turns to Ameri-Tips, detective agency which is handling the case on behalf of the boy’s family. At Ameri - Tips she seals a unique deal with Cynthia Keener, the detective at the agency. Next, she has visions of a car crash, featuring her daughter, as she aids Ameri - Tips in locating a teenager who has disappeared. Joe is looking for a job but has to seek support of Allison to search for the daughter of his likely employer so as to grab the job opportunity.

Allison loses her hearing abilities completely when a rich, deaf young girl is abducted. As she is investigating the case with Cynthia Keener for the parents of the girl, Joe lends support to Allison. Defense attorney Larry Watt, Allison’s adversary comes in to Allison for help and recruits her as a consultant. But in her dreams, Allison visualizes, that his client has really killed his wife. Afterwards, Allison lends all the support she can for Devalos to get back to the D.A.’s office. But her dreams tell her that his long time friend and political supporter, Senator Garrity is caught in the middle of a huge conspiracy. Bridgette too has visions, of a relentless creditor who is located miles away.

Allison’s mother-in- law, Marjori Dubois comes visiting, but Allison feels uncomfortable telling Joe about the real motive of her visit. In a case related to arson and murder, Scanlon, Devalos and Allison team up once again. Cynthia tries to use Allison’s powers for her cases. Feeling uneasy still, to hide secrets from Joe, Allison makes efforts to establish a link between, a case for Cynthia, her own visions, and the murder case for Devalos and also Ariel’s forecast of a death of the mother of a known person. Next, Allison uncovers some dark secrets about Cynthia Keener as she is searching for a local girl. Bridgette’s science projects, motivates Joe resulting in some strains between Joe and Allison’s relationship.

Joe aids Bridgette in the science class project and even gets a future forecast of his finances done. Allison continues to look into Cynthia’s past life while she helps her out in the case of abduction of a girl. There is a hazardous “cougar” that is suspected of killing two young men. Now Scanlon and Allison group up to find it. As the local D.A.’s campaign is on, Allison spots that a person close to Devalos is planning to back stab him. Later, FBI profiler Agent Edward Cooper is back in Phoenix and tries to persuade Allison that he is looking for a serial killer; something which she in her dreams disagree with. Joe delivers a presentation on his solar power-based invention to Meghan Doyle, a venture capitalist, who seems pleased by it.

There are lots of accidental deaths going on by which Allison is bothered as she can’t spot the link. She has visions of Scanlon and his girlfriend Lynn DiNovi’s friend being killed in an accident at home. There are also visions of her trip to the hospital. Joe looks for an inexpensive and innovative alternative for Marie’s glasses. Joe surprises Allison with a second hand car in a wonderful condition when her old car breaks down as he landed up with a great deal on it. But the car is at the core of a terrible crime which is unsolved till date. Allison gets acquainted with Meghan Doyle, Joe’s new business partner and is clearly uncomfortable with the attractive lady. Later, there does arise a discomfited situation between Joe and Meghan Doyle which can cause their business relationship to break. Allison helps out Scanlon to get hold of the person who is accused of a well planned and chilling kill of the rich local drug lord. But her visions lead them to a severely impaired man, Joey Carmichael who even has a bullet stuck in his brain.

The season ended on 12^th May, 2008 with Allison handling the case of a haunted house. She finds out that a baby was drowned there many years ago and as the wife of the new owner kills herself, Allison is certain that a link exists. Joe and Meghan terminate their friendship as Meghan sells out his idea. Tom Van Dyke learns that he is dying and Devalos is made the D.A. once again.
