Season 1
The first season of the Tv show Medium started on 3rd January, 2005 and ended 23rd May, 2005. Joe thinks that due to office work, Allison was simply stressed and hence the strange dreams that are happening to her. But later he realizes that she had visions of a murder that really happened in Texas.
Her ex- Boss requests Allison’s help in choosing a jury which would be deciding about the death penalty for a rapist and a murderer but her powers are tested as she feels that a wrong man is being declared guilty. Next, Allison dreams about a couple committing a suicide or murder. She also gets acquainted with Detective Lee Scanlon by D.A. Devalos, whose sister and sister’s husband also died in the same way, so she points some kind of similarity. But Scanlon refuses to take her help when he comes to know about Allison’s self proclaimed gift even though he later starts believing in her.
A witness tries misleading the police sketch artist by diverting the search to a wrong man, and Allison attempts to explain this to Devalos. At the same time, new playmate of six year old Bridgette points out that yet another family member can see the deceased. When Joe is about to have a biopsy done, Allison seeks support from another psychic who informs her that though Joe would come out fine, her marriage may experience some hiccups. Next she comes to know from a dead police officer that the weapon used to kill him was hidden in his coffin.
Allison had dreamed about a man kidnapping Ariel and meets him in reality but he is an extremely clean and honest man. Allison also expects pregnancy this season. Later comes the case of a young woman committing suicide in Allison’s dream, who is involved with an attorney and his son at the same time. Allison also dreams about the death of her brother, but is relieved when he comes to visit her, though with some secrets in hand. A girl dies in a house fire but Allison is uneasy as she is experiencing some problems talking with the girl.
Ariel experiences dreams about a girl whom she thinks really exists, but Allison deems that it as just another dream. When the frequent dreams about a couple of boys trying to cross train tracks do not let Allison sleep, she consults a doctor who has experience with psychics and mediums.
Allison’s abilities go little haywire when in sickness she sees dreams regarding a very old, 1960s murder. Next she takes up the case of a murder done by a ghost, along with Scanlon and Devalos. She also tries to interpret the news she gets about a mother’s turbulent past.
Allison finds herself at crossroads when she sees visions about a man who murdered his wife and hence should be imprisoned but is destined to prevent a plan crash in future. Then she works on a decade old case, to induce that the man in prison for the murder is not guilty and the one involved in the conspiracy against him was some one close to Allison.
She then gets to know about a psychopath doctor who had many years ago, raped and murdered a number of teenage girls. When she comes to realize that an evil soul was taking possession of the people, she gets ready to stop it from hunting down more innocent victims.
In the end, Allison sees Capt. Kenneth Push at a murder scene in her vision, so she calls him up for help in locating a serial killer. But this would mean, putting Capt. Push’s life at risk.
